Uruguay’s Economy continues to grow
Uruguay’s economy has expanded 3.7% during the second quarter of 2014 making for 10 years of continuos expansion.
With the exception of construction, which had a negative performance, all other sectors of the Uruguayan economy expanded during the second quarter compared to 2013.
Exports during the period, increased 8.1% in volume on an annual basis while imports increased at a 2.4% rate.
Last year the Uruguayan economy expanded 4.4% above the government target and other estimates such as the IMF and World Bank. In dollar terms this means the Uruguayan GDP now stands at the equivalent of 49.7 Billion USD dollars.
