Finland’s UPM to go ahead with USD 3 billion pulp plant in Uruguay

The firm claims that the investment will create thousands of jobs in a country with a growing unemployment problem but environmentalists are concerned about the plant’s effects on the river. Finnish company UPM said Tuesday it will go ahead with plans to invest more than $3 billion to build a eucalyptus pulp plant in Uruguay.
