New York Post names Chilean ski resort a top destination
Chile’s central and southern regions are home to a wide variety of ski centers which receive thousands of visitors each season (between June and October). You can go skiing or snowboarding for the day at one of the ski centers just outside Santiago or spend a few days at an all-inclusive hotel further south.

Open year-round, Valle Nevado is the largest mountain resort in the southern hemisphere and one of Chile’s most modern ski centers. Perched 3,025 meters above sea level, the resort offers 37 ski runs that cover 900 hectares of terrain.
First opened in 1998, it offers trail rides, trekking, rappelling, chair lifts, and other activities during the summer, but it is in winter that Valle Nevado really shines.
In the shadow of Cerro El Plomo (5,340 meters), you can enjoy more than thirty ski runs covering 900 hectares of terrain suitable for beginner to advanced skiers and snowboarders. For something more radical, try heli-skiing, off-piste skiing and bumps. The resort also has a terrain park for snowboarders that is 100 meters long and 50 meters wide and includes rollers, a rainbow, three six- to ten- meter high jumps, two rails with a nine-meter kink box, two step jumps and a quarter-pipe for jibbing.
The resort has three hotels, dozens of apartments, six restaurants, four bars and an international clientele that often includes Olympic teams in training and others who come from the four corners of the world to enjoy the Andean scenery. Located just 60 km east of Santiago.
