This four-storied mall called “Shopping Paris” is a new sensation in Ciudad del Este for locals and foreigners alike. It is located only 300 m from the customhouse, and you can easily park your car there for free in this all glazed beautiful building (80,000 m2 of shopping). The shopping is tax-free for non-Paraguayans making it a magnet for nearby Brazilians and Argentines shoppers. On top of that, the prices are very low.
There are many shop types in the mall, but also some must go to attractions: Shopping China (3rd. floor), 3D museum (2nd. floor) and the Snow Park (4th. floor).
Almost everything can be found in one place: The Shopping China has low prices are similar to other local malls like Sax or Monalisa. The very top brands are still not available but mid range ones are, so don’t expect super luxury, but well-known mid brands: beverages, perfumes, clothes, etc.
The staff still need more customer training at some shops and be prepared for queues at the checkout due to its popularity.
The 3D museum is the must-to-visit attraction: very innovative and well designed. If you have children you could visit the snow park or some of the many other entertainments for them there.
It has the regions second Apple store in South America after Rio de Janeiro. Cinema Paris: 4 high-end cinemas with the most advanced projection and sound technology. Caffè Molinari: Cafè Italian gourmet of aroma and unique quality, is the official coffee of the Scuderia Ferrari. Food Square: Japanese, Chinese, Italian, Mexican, churrasquería, empanadas, cafeteria, ice cream, and lots more.
It was built by South Korean investors who like many other foreigners are seeing a rising middle class in a fast growing economy as an opportunity not to be missed.
