When making the decision to  buy an apartment in a certain building, we take into account who  was in charge of its design and construction? In many cases it is important to know  what we have in Buenos Aires  many buildings that were designed by renowned architects who have carried out very important works for the city  and that were built under their direction by prestigious construction companies.

To understand how we come to have certain types of constructions these days, we must go back to the past and briefly see the changes of the 20th century in lifestyle, ideas, fashion, knowledge, etc.

The new buildings change according to the needs, referential concepts are put aside and a new meaning to architecture is sought. A new aesthetic emerges that lies in the function, if the building is harmoniously distributed inside, if it is integrated into the environment, if its habitability is pleasant, then the building will be beautiful. Detached from the commitment of the past, the architects of this century manage volumes and spaces with absolutely different criteria, resulting from new materials and new needs.

In Buenos Aires the ADLMP Studio Architecture studio whose acronyms refer to its partners: AMAYA Rafael, DEVOTE architect Miguel, architect LANUSSE Alberto, architect MARTIN Eduardo, architect, Buenos Aires 1919 PIERES Augusto, architect, Buenos Aires 1917 The studio was formed in 1947 with a group of newly received architects.

Their works can be registered within functionalism, gradually moving away from the classical guidelines of the academic training of its members. Throughout their professional life, they carry out numerous projects of technical and functional importance, residential buildings in horizontal property and offices, also participating in innumerable competitions, many of which obtain prizes although they are not built, many of them of great formal freedom and use of novel structures.

The professional task of this study was developed until the 1980s. Two of its members participate academically in the FAU-UBA: arq. Lanusse as dean in 1955, and arch. Martín as a full professor until 1983. Some of his most outstanding works are: Secretariat of Aeronautics (1947); Military Geographical Institute, second prize (1948);  Headquarters for the Newell´s Old Boys Club of Rosario, first prize (1950); Cabildo y Juramento shopping gallery (Churba gallery, 1962); shopping arcade for Terminal de Once;  Mirafiore building (Fiat, 1964); Bs As subway line D extension project (1970); Channel 13 Expansion (1978); competition for ATC (1978); Llorente factory “Los Criadores”.
