Loft living – Palermo Hollywood Buenos Aires Trendy Chic

Palermo Hollywood over the past 24 months has seen a boom in new build developments; almost on every block there is a building under construction or in the finishing stages of construction.  The majority of developers have opted to build a mixture of one level apartments or studios along with lofts that typically have a mezzanine level bedroom with bathroom.  In some cases every unit in a particular new build are all lofts.

Most of these lofts have an average size of around 50M2 and feature an open plan layout i.e. a kitchen, living and dining room on the first floor with a staircase leading to an en-suit bedroom on the mezzanine level that is normally half the size of the ground floor allowing for a double height effect over the living area of the loft.  These units receive ample light as they normally feature floor to ceiling windows.

Nowadays the average price for a new loft in the neighbourhood is around USD 2,000 per meter squared, price will of course vary from building to building given their quality and location.  Lofts also make for an attractive investment as they normally rent for a higher price per meter squared compared to an apartment or studio.

Hollywood that is famous for it’s restaurants and nightlife and will continue to grow as BA’s trendy neighbourhood. Slowly though, development space is running out for new buildings, this will inevitably result with price escalations across Palermo.
