This page contains the weighted monthly average price data for dairy farmers gate milk recorded in Brazil. The average price has to be considered as the result of the weighted average price for milk recorded in the following Brazil regions: Goias, Minas Gerais, Rio Grande de Soul, San Paulo, Paranà, Bahia. The information was provided by Clal which is a is an Italian Dairy Economic Consulting firm that analyzes the Dairy Market www.clal.it

In Brazil exists three milk sales categories:
A. Leite type A:
high quality milk obtained by mechanical milking system; it is refrigerated and packed in plastic bottles, with the name Leite type A, by the same dairy farm.
B. Leite type B:
milk obtained by stabulated cows through hand or mechanical milking system; it is refrigerated and then shipped in insulated tank to the dairy by truck. The Fluid milk is packed in plastic bottles, with the name Leite type B, otherwise it is processed into cheese.
C. Leite type C:
milk obtained by grazing cows through hand or mechanical milking system; it is refrigerated by rural equipments and then shipped to the dairy by truck. Once the milk arrives at the dairy plant it is packed (in plastic bags containing 1lt of milk and with the name Leite type C), otherwise it is processed into cheese or other dairy products. The fat content has to be approx. 3%.
